Soils Health Day 2025

Sheep Pen Creek Landcare hosted two engaging and informative workshops with renowned agroecologist and soil scientist David Hardwick, focusing on managing soil erosion across our local landscapes.

Over the course of the sessions, participants explored a variety of sites, examining the diverse soil types, profiles, and landforms found in the district. David guided the group through practical discussions on identifying erosion risks, understanding underlying soil health issues, and exploring management strategies tailored to different conditions.

The workshops provided landholders with valuable, hands-on learning opportunities, enhancing their ability to read the landscape, interpret soil characteristics, and make informed decisions to improve long-term soil stability and productivity.
