Connecting Landscapes and Communities - Strathbogie

The Gecko Clan Landcare Network will deliver a step change in community revegetation and habitat restoration activities by providing access to high quality native plants, paddock tree guards and nest boxes for our member Landcare groups to install across the Strathbogie Shire region.

Recently this region has been affected by severe weather events and storms that have resulted in significant loss of habitat connection and loss of large old hollow bearing trees.   Over three years, the Gecko Clan Landcare Network will coordinate the bulk supply of 6000 locally indigenous plants, 200 paddock tree guards and 100 nest boxes to local Landcare groups.  This will result in the protection or enhancement of a further 12 hectares of land and a more socially connected community.

4 Regional workshops will be coordinated by Gecko Clan to ensure best practice information on habitat augmentation and restoration is available to project participants.  The workshops will be hosted by local Landcare Groups to and will be free to attend for community members across the broader Goulburn Broken region.
