It has been a long journey since the early 1980’s when the Warrenbayne Land Protection Group was first conceived. It quickly developed into one of Australia’s first Landcare groups, attracting broad attention because of the innovative, inclusive and ‘grass roots’ approach of those landholders involved who spearheaded action on salinity control and land degradation. Much has changed since then with a new generation of farmers and small landholders who face even bigger environmental issues.

About the Guest Presenter:

Pam Robinson was one of those few inaugural landholder members of WBLPG who went on to work at a national (and international) level on start-up regional, state and national committees dealing not only with salinity and land degradation issues but also the bigger concern of climate change. Pam was there at the beginning and has maintained strong links with this community and the Warrenbayne Boho Land Protection Group.

This is a celebratory evening with Pam’s insights into those early years of developing the Landcare model, along with where we might go to from here, being the major focus of her presentation.

Election of committee members and office bearers to occur at the beginning of AGM followed by the guest speaker.

A light supper will be served at the end of the meeting.

All welcome!
