100 New Homes
Restoring habitat and communities with nest boxes across the Gecko Clan Landcare Network
The Gecko Clan Landcare Network are excited to bring "100 New Homes" to our Network in 2024.
Throughout this project, Landcare groups and communities from our region will come together to construct a variety of nest boxes to enhance the habitat of threatened species.
There will be an opportunity to attend one of two workshops in the northern and southern parts of our network area, to construct and decorate a nest box for Landcare group projects, and learn about the importance of improving and protecting biodiversity in our region from our guest presenters.
The next boxes will be designed to attract particular species, including owls, small birds, parrots, phascogales and gliders, and represent an important habitat enhancement that aims to replicate tree hollows, a feature commonly lacking in many environments.
For upcoming workshops keep an eye on our events page, and follow us on our facebook and Instagram pages.
