Helen Haines site visit 2025

Helen Haines, Federal Member for Indi, visited the Marriott family property to tour one of their impressive revegetation sites and see firsthand how sustainable agriculture practices are being integrated into their land management.

The visit highlighted the Marriotts’ efforts to combine productive farming with environmental stewardship, including planting native vegetation to enhance biodiversity, improve soil health, and protect waterways, all while maintaining a viable and resilient farming operation. Helen heard directly from the family about the challenges and rewards of implementing sustainable agriculture practices alongside revegetation efforts, such as balancing stock management with habitat restoration and improving long-term land productivity.

Helen expressed her admiration for the Marriotts’ commitment to sustainable farming and acknowledged the critical role local landholders play in shaping environmentally responsible and productive landscapes. The visit underscored the importance of supporting landholders with initiatives like Landcare to continue fostering sustainable agriculture, healthy ecosystems, and resilient regional communities.
